This saterday we went to "Boek en bal" . There were many famous Dutch writers (famous in Holland), not to say Dutch writers that think that they are famous. Among the first category there were Koos van Zomeren, Kees van Kooten, Vincent Bijlo and Wilfried de Jong and I enjoyed their performances. There were many more writers though but there was no time to listen to them all. Unfortunately I catched a cold that day when running so I felt a little sick.
With a dripping nose and wet eyes I listened to their stories and a not too critical observer that noticed me maybe was thinking that I was just thrilled.
Anyway, 1300 people was too much for me and fortunately my partner agreed when I suggested her to go before the dancing started.
I must confess that from the people I just mentioned I only read some books of Kees van Kooten. And that was a long time ago. But of all the people there I felt the most respect for the blind Vincent (I 've only read some of his witty columns) who's next to an entertaining writer also a very funny cabaretier. See for yourself.
Wasn't that nice?
